The government has announced £4 million of funding for businesses to develop cutting-edge ideas to address some of the biggest health problems of our time.
The 'Inclusive Leadership' project focusses on the promotion of inclusivity within senior clinical managerial and leadership roles across the NHS in the North East, specifically in relation to black and minority ethnic (BME) populations which are currently under-represented across the region. The work stems from the NHS North East Leadership Academy Programme inclusion agenda.
The ultimate aim is to reduce inequalities and increase diversity in the workforce by supporting, developing and retaining people who are equipped with high quality skills applicable to leadership roles. HIEC NE will support the project to work towards achieving this aim through continued engagement and partnership working with NHS North East and the Leadership Academy.
